Ukraine Edition St. Gallen Symposium x Square
Social commitment
In March 2022, I gratefully accepted the invitation from St. Gallen Symposium and created an NFT edition on the topic of the Ukraine conflict together with students from the HSG in Square. The strictly limited edition of 1/1 shows a snapshot of young people whose thoughts are with the victims of the war. All proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will be donated to the Swiss Red Cross.
Together with HSG students, a workshop was organized in which young people were able to express their feelings and sentiments about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Invited by the St. Gallen Symposium, I was asked to introduce the students to the art world of the NFTs. To the delight of the audience, Prof. Thomas Metzler, Ph.D. was present at the meeting in St. Gallen and gave a remarkable keynote on NFTs, crypto, metaverse & blockchain.
I was particularly pleased about this, as I was less familiar with the technical background to blockchain and would hardly have been able to give a presentation on it. After his presentation, many things became clear to me and I was able to further develop myself and my work in the world of non-fungible tokens.
A workshop was organized after the joint lecture. It was obvious that the joint NFT edition would have to have something to do with the current situation in Ukraine.
Spontaneously, 29 students agreed to photograph themselves or each other and to capture their mood. I edited the photographs on site and uploaded them to the blockchain.

Vernissage – sold out!
A few days later, the St. Gallen Symposium organized a vernissage at Square. We managed to sell the entire collection! The generous buyer immediately donated the NFT edition back to us and so the NFTs were once again available to anyone interested in buying them.
The NFTs can be purchased from Opensea, among others. 100% of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Swiss Red Cross, which in turn is doing good in Ukraine.
